Michael Kramm, MS, Resident in Counseling

Michael "Mike" Kramm, MS, Resident in Counseling received his Master of Science in Counseling from Divine Mercy University in Northern Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Old Dominion University. Mike is completing his residency in counseling under the clinical supervision of Bernadette Landry, LPC. As a USMC veteran, Mike believes no one is beyond help or finding meaning for their lives and flourishing. Reaching out to a professional may be hard or scary, but the very act (or even serious contemplation of that act) shows a wealth of strength and courage. Mike’s goal is to help his clients find peace and healing within themselves. He uses an eclectic approach to therapy drawing from the most effective and efficient evidence-based exercises/treatments for each individual client. Mike knows the pain of mental illness as well as trauma and has made it his life’s work to help others climb free from those pits. His focus is on trauma and addiction; however, he has experience with compassion fatigue, grief and loss, anxiety, phobias, domestic violence, and anger issues.

Jacey Persinger, M.Ed., Resident in Counseling

Jacey Persinger, Resident in Counseling, received her M.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in August 2021. She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education in 1998 and spent many years working as a developmental specialist in early intervention before transitioning to the mental health field. This background gives Jacey a holistic perspective that considers the multitude of influences which intersect to create each person’s unique, personal story. It also informs her assessment of the potential causes for her clients’ pain and unhappiness.

Jacey believes the foundation of every therapeutic relationship begins with empathic connection, and she seeks to create a space for clients that feels safe and welcoming for the sharing of their personal stories. She then works collaboratively with clients to determine the cause of their distress, and the barriers stopping them from living their best life. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based interventions to help clients overcome their personal barriers to happiness, whether through acceptance, change, or a combination of both. Her techniques primarily stem from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). However, she also endorses concepts within other theoretical lenses; specifically, she values aspects of attachment theory, psychoanalytic theory, and family systems approaches.

When she is not providing services, Jacey enjoys running, cooking, playing with her dogs, and cheering on her favorite teams. Jacey is the spouse of a retired veteran, and the mother of three boys and two dogs. As a former military spouse, she enjoys working with the military population. She has experience working with adults and children ages 10+ for concerns related to: anxiety, depression, phobias, grief and loss, life transitions, and challenges associated with military-life and retirement. Jacey is strictly a telehealth provider, operating under the license and clinical supervision of Bernadette Landry, LPC.
